About

I am a dog trainer, walker, groomer, and boarder in Chicago, Illinois.  I have worked with horses for many years and am a certified horseback riding instructor, but as there aren’t many opportunities to work with horses downtown Chicago, I have since shifted my focus to dogs. Many similar philosophies and training strategies apply to both horses and dogs, making the crossover between these species relatively simple.  Many of my clients have found that my training techniques  help them bridge the communication gap between out-of-control dog and frustrated owner. So after being active in the dog training community for several years I have developed opinions on a plethora of dog products. Thus the birth of this blog. It is my deepest wish that through my knowledge of dogs, I might be able to strengthen relationships and show each family that they can have the dog they’ve always wanted with hard work, patience, and the right tools!

“Amanda’s blog has been EXTREMELY helpful with us and our loveable Pit puppy. He has a TON of energy – so its a lot of work to keep him under control. After talking with Amanda about some of Bear’s issues I decided it would be a good idea to have her come out and work with us.  It was nice to be able to try products before purchasing by seeing them in action. They made an immediate difference for our high energy pup. Also Amanda was helpful with showing us how to interact with Bear, and communicate effectively. We still have a long ways to go – but we are SO very thankful for Amanda and her wisdom! ~Brad, Nichole, & Bear”

I love my husband, Michael, to whom I have been married for 2 years. I also love Jane Austen, rice pudding, photography, quilting, The Moody Church, and well-behaved doggies!
